Nongpoh gets two health & wellness centres

NONGPOH: Local legislator Mayralborn Syiem on Saturday inaugurated the first two health and wellness centres (HWC) at Marngar PHC and Umden PHC, respectively.
Syiem expressed his gratitude to the health department for their initiatives to provide better and comprehensive facilities to the people of the area in particular and the District as a whole.
The inauguration ceremony of the centres was also attended by Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Rosetta Mary Kurbah, Director of Health Service (Research) cum Nodal Officer of NPCDCS, LM Pdah, DMHO, M Mawrie, District Surveillance Officer, A.J. Syiemlieh and other dignitaries beside the local populace at large.
Kurbah lauded the efforts of the doctors and staff for their hard work.
Pdah in his speech informed that initially, these HWCs were supposed to be implemented in the districts where NPCDCS programme is being carried out. However, as per central guidelines, every aspirational district must have wellness centres.
