Los Angeles: Hollywood funnyman Jim Carrey’s daughter Jane’s singing dreams were dashed after she was ousted from American Idol.

Jane sang Bonnie Raitt’s ‘Something to Talk About’ in front of judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson at the San Diego, California audition, and was unanimously voted through to the next round of the current competition.

She appeared on the US show again in a pre-taped audition but failed to make the cut, reported E! online.

“I freaked out when I was there so I was really, really shaky and I know I can do way better than that and so I’m really disappointed with myself. I talked to my dad and he was kinda comforting. He said, ‘I’ve been said no to a bunch of times’ and it worked out well for him in the end so hopefully I have a shot (at stardom),” she said.

Jim said that he is very proud of his daughter and her talent. (PTI)
