‘Discover Jaintia’ tourism fest ends

JOWAI: The five-day annual Discover Jaintia tourism festival, organised by the Jaintia Tourism and Environment Society (JTES) in collaboration with organizing partners and supported by Meghalaya Tourism department and Jaintia Hills District Administration, came to a close on Saturday evening at Ialong Park.

Ialong Park attracted hundreds of spectators and the park was illuminated with thousands of traditional torches called Dongmusa. Musical extravaganza was also organised where various artists performed and entertained the hundreds of attendants.

Urban Affair Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh attended the closing ceremony held at Ialong park as the chief guest ascorted by Jaintia hills Deputy Commissioner, T Dkhar and other District officials and members of the JTES.
