SHILLONG: The Nongkhnum organising Committee will hold the Nongkhnum festival on December 14 and 15 under the theme ‘For nature, Hope and Life’.
Speaking to reporters, chairman of the committee Lumbor Mawsor said some of the highlights are inter Hima dancing competition by Himas of West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
Moreover, storytelling, drama will also be another attraction which will be done in collaboration with the Khasi Author Society.
A band from Sikkim -‘Girish and the Chronicles’ and Hard caddies from Ukraine will be performing at the event.
“There will off road challenges, Motor cross, Beach Volley ball, Tug of War, including traditional games like ‘Mawpoint’, etc.,” he said. Mawsor said that the tickets will be Rs 300 for one day and Rs 500 will be charge for two days.
With Nongkhnum known to have bad road conditions, he said temporary repair of the road is underway.
