SHILLONG: The 10th East Himalayan Expo, which was inaugurated by Governor Tathagata Roy on Monday, did not witness many visitors on the second day.
Many stalls from Manipur, Tripura, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal had already shut up shop by 6.15pm.
“There were no customers so we are wrapping up for the day,” said a stall owner from West Bengal.
Another woman sitting at a stall from Shillong also echoed the same view. She said the recently concluded Saras Fair saw more footfall and was vibrant.
Some visitors who were disappointed at the early shutdown said probably the location was not convenient for many. The official timing of the fair is 10am-6pm.
A shop owner said the first half of the day was still better but later visitors started thinning out.
