Kohima: The newly-appointed Chairman of Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB) Maj Gen (retd) N. George has asserted no more designated camps would be allowed to be set up for their respective cadre in Nagaland.
George, who held separate meetings with two groups of NSCN, said while there would not be further designated camps, an NSCN (K) truce supervisory committee sub-office would be allowed to come up at Dimapur though not within a civilian area.
The retired General and other representatives in the CFSB held separate discussions with leaders of GPRN/NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) and NSCN (K) respectively at Chumukedima police complex near Dimapur on Tuesday in the backdrop of resurgence of factional infighting between the two groups after their split in June last year.
After the meeting, the chairman told newsmen that the Centre decided against allotting any more designated camps except the NSCN (K) sub-office at Dimapur and asked both the groups to stop arm clashes and strictly adhere to the agreed cease-fire ground rules.
Around 12 activists, from both groups, were killed in the fresh spurt of factional fight in Nagaland since the December 19 stand-off between GPRN/NSCN and NSCN(K) when the former strongly objected to the setting up of the sub-office at Dimapur by the latter.(PTI)
