Former BJP Mahila leader may join Congress

Mawkyrwat: In a major boost to the Congress party in Ranikor Constituency, South West Khasi Hills District ahead of the council election to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), former president of the state BJP Mahila, Pelcy Snaitang along with her supporters may join the party in the coming days.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, Ranikor Block Congress Committee (RBCC) President, Khrang Lyngkhoi on Tuesday confirmed that there was a concrete discussion between him and Snaitang and she has assured that she may join the party on January 28.
It may be mentioned that Snaitang was a BJP candidate from Ranikor Constituency in the last Assembly Election. However, in the Ranikor by-election, Snaitang left the party and supported UDP candidate, Pius Marwein.
