SHILLONG: Pankaj Jain, Resident Commissioner of the Meghalaya House, Delhi has denied that they have awarded the contract for operating of the canteen in the Meghalaya House.
It was reported that the contract for operating the canteen at the Delhi Meghalaya House has already been awarded to a person who is in charge of the security at the Meghalaya House. Sources also informed that the contract work has been allotted to one RS Caterer.
While denying the report, Jain said, “At the moment we are carrying out the technical evaluation of the tender. The fact of the matter is that unless the bid applications are opened we cannot award the contract for operating the canteen,” Jain said while speaking to The Shillong Times on Thursday.
The Resident Commissioner also informed that the previous caterer would continue to run the canteen until the time they awarded the contract to a fresh bidder.
“We are planning to complete awarding of the contract by the end of this month,” Jain added.
It may be mentioned that a total of seven bid applications have been received for operating the canteen at the Meghalaya House.
