Male child victims of sexual abuse covered under Meghalaya compensation scheme

SHILLONG: From onwards cases of male child victim of sexual abuse will be covered under Meghalaya victim compensation scheme 2015.

Home Minister, James Sangma after the Cabinet meeting on Friday said that the Ministry of Women and Child Development had asked the State Government to include Male child victim of sexual abuse   in the scheme.

Even the Ministry of Home Affairs had asked the Government to modify the scheme as per the Central victim compensation scheme for being eligible to avail central funds

Meanwhile, the Cabinet also decided to extend the term of Administrative Rules and Regulations Advisory Committee for  a period of another two years effective from February 12,  2019  since the Committee still have some pending tasks to do like treasury rules, Meghalaya financial rules and others.
