SHILLONG: The banned Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council has accused the Meghalaya Government of using some local indigenous Khasi people from the international border as well as people belonging to the Bengali Hindu community as informers to report the activities of the HNLC in Bangladesh by collaborating with the BSF.
HNLC general secretary cum Publicity secretary, Saiñkupar Nongtraw in a statement said that the outfit had received inputs from their reliable sources that the RAW is also involved in this activity.
“It is a well known fact that the RAW is responsible for spreading hatred among the locals and the HNLC not only in Bangladesh but in many countries.”
“Their work is to infiltrate and spread the seeds of disunity and create enmity. Initially, they will use these people as informers and then they will be used as agents of RAW to keep a check on the daily activities of the Bangladesh government,” the HNLC said.
The outfit also maintained that these tactics will bring in a lot of misunderstanding among the people which might result in clashes.
It also said that the Government of Meghalaya and BSF are responsible in giving way to the RAW to operate in the Bangladesh soil.
“One such person that we had received inputs is the son- in- law of a Meghalaya police official, as he is acting as an informer. We are keeping information of his whereabouts and also at the same time we issue him a warning to refrain from his activities. If he does not abide then either we will take action or the Bangladesh government would,” the outfit said, adding this is a crucial issue and the HNLC will not spare its traitors even though they belong to their own community.
