Aircel faces KSU ire

NONGSTOIN: The KSU’s Nongstoin circle on Tuesday closed down the gate of the area which houses the tower of Aircel at Mawlangkhar as the company failed to give quality service to its subscribers.

The students’ body had earlier issued a 10-day deadline to the company to improve its service at Nongstoin.

Talking to media persons, the president of the KSU unit, John Milton Wahlang said Aircel and Airtel did not pay any attention regarding the 10- day deadline given by them so the union decided to close down the tower of Aircel.

He said “if Aircel wants restart its service the company will have to maintain a good service”.

The chowkidar of the Aircel tower at Mawlangkhar Tral Rani told newsmen that the machines were not functioning for last two months ago and when he brought the matter to the notice of the engineer he only promised to come but till now no one attended to the problem.

He also urged the company to release his salaries as well as the rent of the land which was given to the company to set up the tower,

This programme was organized by the District Social Welfare Officer, Nongstoin in collaboration with Bethany Society and Sngap Syiem College Mawkyrwat .
