Anderson School wins WKH inter-school athletics meet

NONGSTOIN: Anderson Higher Secondary School, Nongstoin, bagged the overall trophy at the end of the three-day 26th West Khasi Hills District-Level Inter-School Athletics Meet 2019 conducted by the Office of the District Sport Officer, West Khasi Hills. The meet organised at Nongpyndeng Playground concluded on Friday. District Superintendent of Police B.J Laloo graced the programme on the concluding day as the chief guest. Best boys’ team trophy was bagged by Anderson Hr. Sec. School while the best girls’ team award went to Sibsing Memorial Hr. Sec. School. Daboklang Giri Secondary School won the trophy for the best March Past contingent. Hawanmanbha Pyrngap of Anderson Hr. Sec. School won the trophy for best U-14 boys’ athlete while the best athlete (U-14 girls) went to Wanda Lyngkhoi of Borsing Memorial Secondary School. Andy Russel Sohkhlet of Anderson Hr. Sec. School and Mildaris Rynshiang of St. Peter Hr. Sec. School won the trophy for best U-16 (boys) and U-16 (girls) athlete, respectively. The above 18 category best athlete award was won by Alphisius Mawsor of St. Peter Hr. Sec. School and Balakyntiew War of Anderson Hr. Sec. School, respectively.
