New Delhi: The cricketing fraternity empathised with Amati Rayudu after he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Wednesday.
Some said they shared his “pain” and “anguish”, while others voiced sympathy. Mohammad Kaif said Rayudu did everything to make a comeback but the World Cup snub hurt him deeply. ”Have to feel for #AmbatiRayudu, did well in the opportunities he got but the World Cup snub must have hurt him really deeply. Wish him the best in retirement,” Kaif tweeted. Virender Sehwag said, ”Must definitely be very painful at being ignored for the World Cup for #AmbatiRayudu but I wish him all the very best in life after retirement.” VVS Laxman said ”Can understand the pain and anguish Ambati Rayudu may be feeling after the World Cup snub even after performing well.” Commentator Harsha Bhogle in a tweet said: ”Really feel for #AmbatiRayudu. Always gave it everything he had but sometimes was left holding the wrong cards.”
IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings wished that Rayudu’s retirement announcement wasn’t true. ”Rayudon’t! Wish it wasn’t true!” tweeted CSK. ”Wish you the best going forward Ambati. You’re a top man”, tweeted India skipper Virat Kohli. (UNI)
