UDP wants party leaders to tour GH

SHILLONG: The United Democratic Party (UDP), East Garo Hills wants the party leadership to depute its leaders, ministers and MDCs to tour all the 24 constituencies of Garo Hills in order to develop contact with the people of the region.
In the general meeting of the UDP, the party said that the central leaders of the party, ministers and MDCs should tour Garo Hills region to instill confidence in the the people in view of the upcoming GHADC and 2023 Assembly elections. The party also wants the state government to take measures to check influx in Garo Hills.
The party in its general meeting also recalled two departed leaders — EK Mawlong and Donkupar Roy — and observed silence for two minutes as a mark of respect to them.
