NONGPOH: Concerned over the irregularities in the implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in many villages in Ri-Bhoi District, the KSU, Nongpoh Cirlce on Thursday issued a strong warning to all the Village Employment Council (VEC) of different villages falling under the jurisdiction of the Nongpoh area.
Lambok Rymbai, KSU Nongpoh Circle President informed this scribe, that the Union was deeply concerned on receiving many complaints from the job card holders over the irregularities in implementation of the scheme provided by the Central Government for the development of the rural areas.
He said that it is sad to know that some of the VEC leaders had dared to misuse the funds of the scheme for their benefit and added that those found involved in misusing the NREGS scheme would be sternly dealth with.
