SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong Umphrup organised a special programme for school children and residents of the village at Umphrup on Thursday to celebrate Poshan Abhiyan and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The programme, which was attended by the Sordar, the village functionaries, teachers, parents, school children and staff of the office of the BDO, witnessed the enthusiasm of the little ones who took a pledge to keep their homes, schools and village free from indiscriminate use of plastic. Ronnie Wahlang, BDO inaugurated the programme with a song encouraging the students to be happy.
