SHILLONG: The Upper Mawprem Council has strongly condemned the inhumane incident in which a girl was allegedly raped by a ward member of the Shillong Cantonment Board Vikash Gupta.
The incident took place on November 6 and the council has affirmed its support for the girl who had gathered the courage needed to speak up.
The council also urged the concerned authorities to take up the matter seriously in order to bring the culprit to justice.
