Retired teachers’ body to pursue pension scheme

SHILLONG: The 3rd annual General Council Meeting of the Meghalaya Retired College Teachers Association (MRCTA), which was held at Lady Keane College on Saturday, resolved to intensely pursue with the government to implement a suitable pension scheme for retired college teachers of the state.
Teachers from the age group 61 to 88 years participated in the deliberations. R. Decruse, Vice Principal of Lady Keane College gave the welcome address.
The association also elected new office bearers for the next tenure (2019-2021). The meeting elected B. Ingty as president; WR Kharlukhi, KD Ramsiej and Suklin Syiem as vice presidents; MN Bhattacharjee as general secretary; Herbran Syiem and Teibor S Rajee as joint secretaries; Abhijit Deb Roy as treasurer; Nirmal K Sarkar, Precious S Dkhar, Sela N. Khathing, Manash Das Gupta, Louis Pyngrope, NB Rai, Pyntngen S Marpna, BN Mishra and LP Shadap as executive council members.
