PWDs to stage sit-in over reservation policy

SHILLONG: The Federation of Persons with Disabilities (FPD) will hold a sit-in demonstration on December 3 at the parking lot of Additional Secretariat from 10 am to 4 pm to press the government to fairly implement the 4 per cent reservation of jobs for Persons with disabilities (PWD). The FPD consists of Meghalaya Deaf Association, Khasi Disabilities Association, Garo Hills Association of the Deaf, West Khasi Disabled People Organization, Meghalaya Liberation of Visually Impaired, All Meghalaya Association of Person with Disabilities. The FPD stated that the organisation took the steps due to the apathy of the state government in addressing the job reservation for PWDs.
