JOWAI: Heavy rain accompanied by a high velocity wind hit Barato and Mukroh villages in Jaintia Hills on Tuesday. According to villagers, the storm, which lasted for only 10 to 15 minutes, destroyed the house of one Damian Biam. “The house of one Ribait Nartiang was also damaged when a tree fell on it. No one was injured”, sources said. Four more houses were reportedly damaged at Pdein-jri, a locality at Barato village.
