Shillong: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Wednesday informed that he has sought the Centre’s intervention in resolving the long-pending inter-State boundary dispute between Assam and Meghalaya.
“I have briefed Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on the prevailing situation along the inter-State border. I have also talked on a host of other things,” Dr Sangma said while returning from New Delhi to Shillong on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister, however, refused to provide more details about his discussion with Chidambaram.
“I would reveal the details of my discussion once I reach Shillong,” he said.
He was confident that the Central Government would intervene into the border-dispute in a more concerted manner.
