DC permits sale of essentials in EJH

KHLIEHRIAT: The Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills has allowed the sale of certain essential goods in the district in compliance with the Central guidelines and a state government order.
The essential items include rice, dal, oil, onion, potato, salt, sugar, tea, coffee, milk, tomato, wheat, alcohol-based floor cleaners, hand sanitisers, liquid soaps, handwash, commercial and domestic LPG, mask, petrol, diesel, SK Oil, medical supplies, healthcare and hygiene products, stationery items, etc. The deputy commissioner also permitted the sale of items related to animal husbandry and veterinary such as animal feed and fodder, vaccine & medicine for animals and pets.
Sale of Agriculture & Horticulture items is also permitted, it added. Asserting that adequate stock of commodities is available and there is no need to panic and resort to hoarding, the deputy commissioner said that arrangements will be made for the days to come and specific instructions will be published well in advance for the public.
