Journalists launch website

 Shillong: Moving a step ahead from printed news to online news, a group of journalists on Wednesday launched their new website – the news, information and tourism based website entitled ‘Oh! Meghalaya’ at Hotel Pegasus Crown here on Wednesday.

Presenting the details of this website, the Editor of the organization Tilak Rai said this is something that has not been tried in Shillong and is very innovative.

He mentioned that the components of this new website include news, tourism, sports and music besides others.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Commissioner of Information Technology (IT) Government of Meghalaya, DP Wahlang while lauding the efforts of the members of the organization, said he hoped that more local entrepreneurs would come forward to start a new venture in IT adding “if the youths of the State are aware of this venture, it will take IT to the last mile”. Stating that the efforts of the past will now fructify, Wahlang said “I hope that the launching of this new website will create a milestone in Meghalaya.”

Meanwhile, executive editor of Oh! Meghalaya, S Sawian expressed his happiness over this development. “I look forward to this website serving the interests of the people of the State in every aspect of life” Sawian said.
