NONGSTOIN: The spree of apprehensions of non-tribals entering the state is ever ongoing as one more gets caught by the United Hynniewtrep Movement (UHM) in Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills.
The UHM, on Monday midnight, detected the person entering the state without any valid document.
While stressing that these are extraordinary times as the pandemic is still present in the state, Kyntiew Nongsiej, president of UHM Nongstoin Circle, said that the non-tribals and other outsiders are being apprehended in order to avoid the spread of COVID-19. On the other hand, Kyntiew also slammed the district administration over outsiders freely entering the state, while the students were made to undergo rigorous quarantine in facilities. The UHM later handed over the apprehended the non-tribal to the government, who then put him in institutional quarantine in the district.
