Jhalupara shops to open on odd-even basis

SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District on Thursday rescheduled opening of shops at Jhalupara and Mawbah areas under Zone-IV/Jhalupara Outpost of Lumdiengjri PS operating from fixed premises saying all would not open every day.
An order issued by him said that shops numbered 1 and 3 will open on July 3, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 while those numbered 2 and 4 will open on July 4, 6, 8, 10, 14, 16 and 18. The shops will remain open from 8 am to 8 pm.
The DC also issued a separate order for shops at Khasi Market located below Jaiaw Taxi Stand, Motphran.
Accordingly, shops numbered 5 will open on July 3, 11 and 13; those marked 6 will open on July 4, 6 and 14; 1 will open on July 7 and 15; 2 will open on July 8 and 16; 3 will open on July 9 and 17 and 4 will open on July 10 and 18.
The deputy commissioner also urged the custodians of the respective locations, the shop owners and the customers to strictly follow all other conditions laid out in earlier orders; they are to maintain social distancing, not overcrowd in one area or shop, frequently sanitise and follow hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette etc.
The shopkeepers and customers are to wear masks, which is mandatory and non-compliance will entail action of closure of the shops concerned and to cooperate with the district administration and police.
