SHILLONG: The Director of Health Services (DHS) (MI), Dr Aman War, has again warned people from venturing out of their homes unnecessarily, reminding that they may likely contract the virus.
Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, Dr War exhorted people to come out only with responsibility and wisdom.
“You cannot take anything for granted. The virus has entered many houses and a premiere institute in the state,” he said.
He reminded the people that COVID-19 is very contagious while also asking them to not panic.
“When the surge comes in the state, it should come gradually. If it comes in a wave then it will become difficult for us to handle,” he said, while adding the present scene of surge in COVID cases is such that the department is being able to manage it with the assistance of traditional institutions as well as responsible citizens.
Emphasising that the elderly and children are most vulnerable to the virus, the DHS said it is high time that people take care of the asymptomatic cases at home.
Meanwhile, Dr War informed that Ayush medicines for boosting immunity are now available in different CHCs and PHCs across the state.
