Jhalupara residents asked to remain indoors

SHILLONG: The COVID Management Committee of Jhalupara has informed that there are more than 106 high-risk contacts and 50 identified secondary contacts in Jhalupara and the adjoining localities.
This was revealed during a meeting between the committee and the district administration recently.
While a few test results are awaited, a large number of the contacts are yet to be tested for COVID-19, the committee said in a statement. All of them have been quarantined, it added.
In this connection, the committee has asked those in home quarantine to not come out until further directives from the district administration arrive, while adding that those found in violation of this will ) be penalised.
‘‘Home delivery service with phone numbers for essential commodities will be circulated and people can call the designated shops according to their needs,’’ the statement from the committee added.
