Teachers’ Day Celebrated in Resubelpara

TURA: The annual Teachers’ Day celebrations across the country was also held in the North Garo Hills district headquarters of Resubelpara, at its Dekachang Community Hall, on Saturday with a sizeable number of teachers attending the programme in which local legislator and deputy speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Timothy D. Shira attended.
Giving his keynote address, Timothy Shira spoke of the enduring efforts of teachers in moulding the minds of children and preparing them to face the chalenges o the world as they grew up. “Their role is that of nation building considering the fact that they shape the role of students and train human resources,” said Shira.
North Garo Hils deputy commissioner S C Sadhu who attended the event as the guest of honour also lauded the efforts of the teachers in shaping the lives of the students towards a bright perspective. He further pressed upon the teachers not to treat all students as the same since the students come from a different family background and the strength and weaknesses of the child differs.
On the occassion, the teachers’ award was also given away by the Chief Guest to Sh. Wilton Marak, Headmaster of Daram Govt. U.P. School (U.P. Level) and Sh. Lewithson Marak, Headmaster of Bolsong L.P. School (L.P. Level).
