NONGSTOIN: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia & Garo People (FKJGP) Nongstoin Circle has written to the Regional Manager of State Bank of India, in Shillong, seeking the repair of the non functional ATM machine at the SBI Nongstoin Branch.
The FKJGP flagged concern stating that the machine has been defunct, due to no repair works being undertaken, for a year.
President of the FKJGP, Nongstoin circle, Willis Syiem, informed that there are three ATM machines in SBI but only one is working, while the other two are non-functional causing difficulties for the customers.
Maintaining that Nongstoin is the headquarters of West Khasi Hills, where most of the people arrive from far-flung areas to withdraw money from the ATM, the FKJGP said that one machine is not enough to cater the people’s needs.
The FKJGP president said that the customers had to stand in long queues.
