Acclamation
The Shillong Jail Road Boys’ Higher Secondary School has congratulated its alumnus, Pushpak Bhattacharjee, Director of IIT Patna, who has been selected as the ‘Abdul Kalam National Fellow’ in recognition of his contribution in the field of Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Growth of Engineering Profession. He completed his matriculation in 1977 from the school and topped the merit list.
Congress unit
The Khliehriat Block Congress Committee has formed a new unit at Wapungskur. The Committee elected Jhan-i-ka Siangshai as the president, Khmihbha Phawa as the vice president. The Wapungskur Unit Congress Committee was confirmed by the Congress MLA, Shitlang Pale.
Cooperative week
The office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies Meghalaya in collaboration with Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd and all state-level cooperative federations will celebrate 67th All India Cooperative Week from November 14 to 20 in all the district headquarters of state. The closing ceremony will be held at Yojana Bhavan, Main Secretariat, Shillong, which will be attended by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong as the chief guest.

West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh has informed that November 12 has been declared as a local holiday in the district on the account of Wangala festival.
