SHILLONG, Dec 7: Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Independent MDC Latiplang Kharkongor has suggested that the MDA Government can meet Governor Satya Pal Malik to apprise him of the demand to implement the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, he said that the visit of the delegation from the state has been an unfruitful one.
He said, “They can meet the Governor here instead as he is a representative of the Centre. The Governor will in turn give the message of the state government to the Centre. It all depends on how aggressive they (the state government) are”.
Kharkongor suggested that the MDA can call for an indefinite but peaceful agitation such as “stay at home” or “All vehicles at home” to push for ILP implementation.
