SHILLONG, Dec 13: The indiscriminate throwing of plastics and bottles by visitors of Diengpasoh Viewpoint has compelled the members of KSU Diengpasoh Unit and Mawryngkneng Tourism Promotion Society to conduct a cleaning drive of the tourist spot on Saturday.
In a statement, the Union said that plastic packets of chips, liquor and beer bottles were found strewn across the place.
The unit president, Agnes Kharsati, said that broken pieces of such bottles, which were found at the venue, pose danger to the residents of the village.
The Union has warned visitors not to throw garbage indiscriminately, while stating that any violators will be handed over to concerned authorities and dealt with sternly.
