WGH DC for early treatment

TURA, March 24: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh on Wednesday asked people to come forward and seek early treatment for tuberculosis, maintaining that it is now a curable disease.
Singh, who was speaking as the chief guest during the observance of World TB Day in Tura, also called on the people to keep themselves healthy so that the disease can be wiped out from the state by 2025.
Informing that most of the healthcare programmes are being monitored right from the grassroots level in the contemporary India, the DC maintauined that active surveillance of these programmes is imperative in order to sensitise people, especially in rural areas, about the facilities provided by the government.
