Police dedicate song to frontline workers

SHILLONG, June 11: Meghalaya Police has dedicated a tribute song to all frontline workers tending to the entire nation amid the ongoing crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The song titled ‘Aao Khaye Kasam’ is all the more special since it has been composed by the force and sung by its personnel. The music video of the song can be watched on the YouTube channel ‘MeghPoliceBand’.
Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek, who released the song on Friday, said that the Meghalaya Police’s gesture will instil hopes in the frontliners and encourage them in contributing more vigorously.
Speaking as the chief guest of the programme at the Conference Room of the Police Headquarters here, Hek also lauded the state police for providing their services relentlessly amid the pandemic.
“The only shield against this disease is vaccination and more emphasis is needed on dissemination of the required information and facts to the people and to dispel myths and fears related to the COVID vaccine,” the health minister said, adding that the Information & Public Relations department is also working to intensify awareness on safety of vaccines through various modes of information dissemination throughout the state right from the village-level.
Others who were present include R Chandranathan, DGP, I Nongrang, Additional DGP (L&O), H Nongpluh, Additional DGP (SB/CID), Matsiewdor War Nongbri, Secretary of Information & Public Relations department, BS Sohliya, Director of Information & Public Relations department among others.
