NONGSTOIN: The Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong Ri Lyngngam and Umdang area in a meeting held on Saturday at Nongdaju football ground have decided to call a bandh where all trucks plying from Shallang to Athiabari and Shallang to Rongjeng would not be allowed to ply. This bandh would come into effect from December 6 to December 30.

In the meeting, which was attended by members of Shallang Area Local Labourers Association and other village authorities from the area, a threadbare discussion on evicting non- local labourers took place.

K Nongsiang general secretary of the Shallang Area Local Labourers Association and Rapthab Rontong general secretary of the Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong said that both their organizations had earlier issued notices to non- local labourers at Shallang but the notices were not adhered to.
They reminded the non- locals of the notice and asked them to leave willingly at the earliest.
Both the organizations asked all the NGOs of the area to support the bandh for the greater benefit of the people of the area.
They however issued a warning asking all truck owners and drivers to co-operate with the organization.
They said that all they would not be responsible for outcomes if their warnings were ignored.
