ULFA hawks abduct two

 Guwahati: Two persons including a businessman and one of his staff were abducted by suspected militants belonging to anti-talks faction of the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) on Monday from Bordumsa area along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh boundary in Tinsukia district of eastern Assam.

According to a police source, the abducted businessman Pradeep More had earlier received demand from anti-talks faction of the ULFA and lodged and FIR in the connection with the police.

The ULFA faction which has set up a bastion along the inter-state boundary areas between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh taking advantage of the rugged and forested terrain.

The outfit of late has intensified its extortion operations targeting even small-time traders, government service holders as the outfit it desperate to mobilize fund.

The Army and police have mounted vigil against the outfit to block the flow of fund to its coffer from big businessmen and business organisations.

Business establishments and especially tea gardens of Eastern Assam areas used to bear the brunt of ULFA’s extortion operation in the past which even forced many tea executives toleave their job out of panic.
