SHILLONG, July 7: The Meghalaya Government has assured of taking immediate action against any teacher who is found of shying away from his/her responsibilities by asking someone to teach on their behalf by paying some amounts.
It may be mentioned that Congress leader, HM Shangpliang, has earlier flagged the malpractice in schools located in remotest parts of the state, while petitioning the government for a probe.
When asked about the allegation, Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department, DP Wahlang, said that the allegations do not arise in the present context as classes are not even held. “If there is any accusation against any teacher, we will send out team to inspect and take immediate action,” he said.
Shangpliang had earlier said due to such malpractice, the studies of children were getting affected.
