Bank branch inaugurated

JOWAI: The 65th Branch of the Meghalaya Rural Bank (Previously ‘Ka Bank Nongkyndong’) was inaugurated by Thadlaskein Block Development Officer, Arkardius M Lyngdoh at Wahiajer village on Monday.

The headman, Wahiajer village who chaired the inaugural function, lauded the initiatives taken up by the Meghalaya Rural Bank authorities for setting up its branch in Wahiajer village.

Farmer found dead

A 70-year-old farmer identified as Orit Iakai of Mynso village originally hailing from Shangpung village was on Monday morning found dead inside a farmhouse at Sula Mynso about 3 km from Mynso village. The old farmer was working in the farm of one Wahshington Shylla of the same village. Sources informed that his body was first spotted by one of Shylla’s son who immediately reported to his father and later to Phramer Police.

Free health camp benefits many

Over 600 villagers including men, women and children of Lumshnong village under Narpuh Elaka and other surrounded villagers were examined and treated at a free Health Check-up Camp organized by the Dalmia Bharat Enterprises Limited (Previously Adhunik Cements) of Thangskai village.
