TURA, Nov 8: The Meghalaya Samachik Association (MSA) on Monday submitted a reminder of its earlier petition for passing the bill for protection and promotion of Garo traditional medicines to GHADC CEM Benedic R Marak.
In its reminder to the GHADC CEM, the association pointed out that after the KHADC passed the Khasi Traditional Medicine protection and promotion bill in 2011, it had demanded the passing of a similar bill for Garo traditional medicine since 2012 following which the then EC of the GHADC had forwarded the same to the Commissioner and Secretary, District Council Affairs of the government in 2019. The association however lamented that no further action has been taken in this regard till date.
