SHILLONG, Jan 11: Mawsynram MLA HM Shangpliang has asked the concerned department to take up repair work of the dilapidated road from Mawphlang till Balat at the earliest.
Shangpliang informed that he had raised the matter with the Secretary of Public Works Department (PWD) while the latter was inspecting a bridge in the area on Tuesday.
Shangpliang said that the road from Mawphang till Welloi, which is the main passage for the people from South West Khasi Hills and Ranikor, is in a horrible condition.
Meanwhile, the PWD Secretary has informed that the road will be taken up under a project for which projections have been sent.
