SHILLONG, Feb 11: With the active COVID-19 tally in Meghalaya plummeting below the 1,000-mark on Friday, the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has issued a slew of relaxations, which will be enforced with immediate effect.
In the directive, the DC said that night curfew in East Khasi Hills will be lifted while all private vehicles, barring two-wheelers, will ply on odd-even basis.
The directive has also mandated the entry of only fully vaccinated persons into restaurants, cinema halls, bars, clubs etc. and has entrusted the proprietor/owner concerned with ensuring adherence to the directive in letter and spirit.
“Gatherings/events /weddings are permitted subject to prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner and adherence to COVID-appropriate behaviour,” the directive said.
Notably, the order also permits shops to function on Sundays.
