SHILLONG: Meghalaya Police defeated The Shillong Times by a massive 93 runs in a league match of the Inter Office cum Corporate T-20 Cricket Tournament 2013 at Polo Grounds on Tuesday.
MLP won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a commanding total of 177-8 in 20 overs. Khanborlang top-scored with 58 runs.
Best among The Shillong Times bowlers was Prasanta Phukon, who claimed four wickets.
However, the paper’s batsmen were unable to mount a challenge to the police and were bowled out for just 84 runs in 17 overs.
In a match played on Monday, MeECL defeated BSNL by 12 runs.
MeECL won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 143-7 in 20 overs. SA Sangma scored 40 while P Joshi took 4-10 in four overs.
In reply, BSNL made 81- 7 in 13.2 overs when rain stopped play. By the D/L method MeECL were better than BSNL by 12 runs. Robert Lyngdoh took 3-22.
