Tura, Feb 23: With an aim to bring about better relationship between the local border residents and the force, the 43 Bn under BSF Meghalaya on Wednesday conducted a Civic Action Programme at Panda village in South Garo Hills.
The programme was organized in the presence of Sh Ratikant Thakur, Commandant 43 Bn BSF. During the event, agricultural tools were distributed among bordering villagers to facilitate their agricultural productivity.
Lauding the initiative, the local population expressed their happiness and gratitude towards the friendly gesture shown by the BSF. It may be mentioned that the BSF is holding such events as a mark of its commitment to help the needy people as well as to strengthen the relations between BSF and Border population.
