SIBSAGAR(Assam): Two powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), suspected to have been kept by ULFA’s anti-talk faction, have been recovered by patrolling security forces from under a bridge in Assam’s Sibsagar district on Friday, official sources said.Acting on a tip-off, patrolling army troops recovered two IEDs, each weighing between ten to twelve kgs, from under a bridge, connecting Sonari and Namrup, at Medalajan area under Sapekhati police station of the district. The IEDs were kept inside a pipe under the bridge and a bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and defused the bomb. The IEDs were suspected to have been planted by the ULFA’s anti-talk faction to make its presence felt following its rejection of the unilateral ceasefire declared by the pro-talk faction to pave the way for peace talks to resolve the outstanding issues espoused by the outfit, sources said.
