Former DGP Anil Pradhan passes away

SHILLONG, March 6: Former Director-General of Police (DGP), Anil Pradhan passed away at Escorts-Fortis Heart Hospital in Okhla, New Delhi on Sunday morning.
He was hospitalised since February 2 and had tested positive for COVID-19.
His last rites will be performed in Delhi. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
Pradhan was an IPS officer of the 1977 Assam-Meghalaya cadre. He served as SP Jowai and Tura before joining the Intelligence Bureau. He returned to the state and served as IG Special Branch, Fire and Emergency Service. He held the post of DGP from May 18, 2009 till August 4, 2009.
He was also the Managing Director of the MTDC for a brief period, a member of the governing body of NEIGRIHMS and was also the special rapporteur of the NHRC in-charge of the North East. He was an active member of the Rotary Club.
