Chief Secretary asked to ensure proper implementation of schemes

SHILLONG: The Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) Madhav Lal has directed the ministry’s officials working in Meghalaya to work in tandem with the State government officials for the effective implementation of various schemes in the State like the PMEGP, MSE-CDP besides others.

In a meeting held between the Secretary and the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya WMS Pariat in the city here on Thursday dwelled in detail upon ways and means of enhancing the efficacy and awareness of these schemes and skill development initiative. Both the Central and the State government reaffirmed their commitment for MSME sector through soft and hard intervention.

The Secretary informed the State Chief Secretary about the promotional role being played by institutions like Indian Institute of entrepreneurship (IIE), NSIC, Khadi and village industries commission (KVIC), MSME-development institute which are functioning in the State.

Lal also assured the Chief Secretary of full cooperation from these institutions for the development of MSMEs and the youth of Meghalaya in particular.
