Shillong, April 16: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has attributed socio-economic problems as the main reasons that lead to militancy.

This statement comes at the backdrop of the formation of a newly-claimed terror outfit “Lawei Ba phyrnai” – supposedly led by “educated yet unemployed” youths of the state.

Stating that creating employment is the top priority of the State government, the chief minister said the government already has  initiated many entrepreneurial programmes that are targeted at creating job opportunities.
