MAWKYRWAT, April 24: Principals of several higher secondary schools from South West Khasi Hills have resolved to move the concerned authorities, be it the central university or the state government including Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE), to suggest setting up of coaching centres within the district, especially in view of the introduction of Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
This materialised during a consultative meeting of principals of Higher Secondary Schools in South West Khasi Hills on CUET UG 2022, which was organised by Sngap Syiem College, Mawkyrwat.
The principals believe that with such coaching infrastructure, students can be guided not only on clearing CUET but also others entrance tests, even as they stressed that computer courses should be made compulsory for all school students.
The MBoSE must revise its syllabus, especially for Arts stream, so that it is at par with NCERT syllabus for the benefit of the students, they suggested.
In a statement, Principal in-charge of Sngap Syiem College, Dr KK Nongsiej, said that the resource person during the consultative meeting, Dr B Marwein, shared some important tips related to the mandatory nature of the CUET for admitting students into central universities in the country and their affiliated colleges.
Meanwhile, the principals have assured to provide guidance to their respective students and provide help to them during the registration process.
