Curtain comes down on Shad Suk Mynsiem

NONGSTOIN, May 9: The colourful traditional thanksgiving dance festival, Shad Suk Mynsiem, came to a close at New Nongstoin playground, on Monday.
As many as 256 dancers — 119 maidens and 137 men — from West Khasi Hills took part in the traditional dance.
The Shad Suk Mynsiem, also known as the Spring Festival, concluded here with hundreds belonging to the Niam Khasi dancing in their traditional attire to the beats of the drums and tangmuri to thank God.
The event was organised by the Seng Khasi, West Khasi Hills.
