Meeting reviews progress of malaria elimination project

SHILLONG, June 6: A three-day regional review meeting on Intensive Malaria Elimination Project (IMEP) – II, with the theme of “Harness Innovations- To reduce the Global Malaria Burden” of the seven northeastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura & Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha was recently held at the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute, Mawdiangdiang.
The meeting was inaugurated by Health Minister James PK Sangma.
The meeting dwelt on the challenges, gaps and way forwards on Malaria Elimination Targets-2030.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from Delhi including Dr Rinku Sharma, Joint Director, NCVBDC, Dr L Somorendra Singh, Senior Regional Director, RoHFW Shillong, and others.
